D403 ERU Weymouth Dorset. Someone at Dorset must have loved Land Rovers, as they had a number of these 6x6 units.

I have 'borrowed' this picture from Steve's album to show what became of D403.(Thanks Steve) I heard a story that the driver was killed, is that true?

BUT906Y Leicestershire. When in service they had problems with the chassis cracking on this. In use in private hands for a while it is now in Ireland.

F916 BEM. This civilian 6 wheeler is seen here at an off-road show, but has also been featured in a Land Rover magazine article.

Fire 1 at Goodwood Aerodrome is this monster, built by Firetech as a demonstrator, shown to various small airfield fire services at a demonstration at Goodwood, and subsequently purchased by them.

This purpose made Safari vehicle was built by the owner in his own garage!

This is a Safir 6x6 conversion built in 1983. This V8 powered breakdown truck spent most of it's working life in Elgin.

PTO driven hydraulic pump drives powerful front and rear winches. Vehicle appeared in Land Rover Monthly in September 2006.

This is Mark Wilkinson with his 6 wheel tipper which the previous owner told him had been converted from a Fire Vehicle, although as yet I can't find it.

And this is how Mark would like it to look. It's nice to know it's not just TACR owners who like to dream....

Similar to G600 WAC this Plant Protection vehicle at Gaydon didn't look like it was capable of giving much protection to anything. Although the water tank was half full.

Looks like a selectable 6x6 axle, by Ashcroft maybe?

The lack of any visible kit plus the rust running down the clutch pedal lead me to believe this had just been dragged out from some outdoor storage. What a waste.
