May just be a coincidence but Steve Shirley (of Manston Fire museum fame !) had a DP 1 and MK 7
lying at East Kirby earler this year. Steve is now Fire Warrant Officer at RAF Cottesmore.

Spoke to Steve Shirley this evening and it was indeed his Mk7 being stored there! - now moved. Well good to know the grape vine works!

Well after much effort trying to see if I was going to be able to get the Mk7 registered I have had to give up. All the brass data plates had been removed for the scrap man years ago meaning there was no way of finding the identity. Sadly I sold the Thornycroft for spares in March.

Some parts are going to Steve Shirley for his Mk7 (which is much more complete and has an identity!) so all is not lost. Engine and tyres are going to a Matador (he had an AEC engine). The rest scrapped...what a shame but just too far gone in the end.
