Broken mast.. The silver box with the 12v sticker on at the bottom of the picture houses all the wiring for the relay package on the left which control the up and down mast functions, the blue beacons and the floodlights. To the right of that is the bank of gear operated microswitches which act as limit switches for the various functions.
Today I guess it would all be controlled by one microchip.
