Kenya Vipers

The Kenya Ministry of Defence has received two identical "Viper" airport crash tenders built on Scania P470 6x6 chassis featuring 470 bhp Euro 3 diesel engines; Allison automatic gearboxes and a Chelsea PTO. The chassis have a 4900 mm wheelbase.
Fire-engineering includes a Godiva Prima single stage rear mounted pump; 2 x 45 mtr rear mounted 1.5" low pressure water/foam hose reels, 9,800 litres of water; 1150 litres of foam and 500 kg of additional media supplied by Perren Engineering Limited. The Vipers feature a joy-stick controlled 5000/2500 lpm roof mounted Akron Brass monitor; an Akron Brass 1325 lpm bumper turret and under truck nozzles. The trucks were delivered to the customer un-marked.
