Firefly RIV

This Land Rover 6x6 RIV was supplied by Firefly Engineering. It was later rebuilt by Fire Vehicle Services before being replaced by a GMC K30/Continental Contract Developments "Kestrel" RIV - ex Augusta Westland Helicopters.
The Land Rover is currently in use at a new heliport serving the emerging oil industry in the Falkland Islands. See my images of the fire-appliance in my Falklands 999 album.
I regret that I never had the opportunity to photograph the GMC at Penzance Heliport but it features in my Cornish Airfield album.
