Kestrel RIV
The latest edition to the Lands End Airport Fire and Rescue Service fleet is this GMC K30/CCD (Continental Contracts Developments) "Kestrel" RIV. The RIV was supplied new to GKN Westland Helicopters in Yeovil and disposed of to British International Helicopters in Penzance via Fire Vehicle Services in Gloucester. When Penzance Heliport closed in November 2012 the RIV was acquired by Lands End Airport. This RIV features a 6.5 litre V8 turbo charged 195 bhp diesel engine and 4 speed automatic transmission. It carries 1,700 litres of water, 210 litres of water + 50 kg DCP. It makes use of a Godiva GP10/10 pump and a remote 1,100 lpm roof mounted monitor.
