RAF Hemswell, Lincolnshire, circa 1963. MK5 standing guard while USAF and RAF personnel load redundant Thor missiles onto an American transport for shipment back to the USA. This was taken by an American Tech Sergeant and kindly given to me by Chris Webb who was in the RAF at the time and serving with him.

Cheers, but all credit to the original photographer. It's actually a colour photo, but I made it black and white to fit in with these others! Don't panic THOUGH, I am planning putting some more stuff on soon, so will add it elsewhere in colour! (Or should that be Color?!) Reg, is the kite a C-130?

Hi Steve , Don't think it is mate. Will check my sources before I commit an answer. Looking forward to seeing it in colour.

Think the wing root is too high for C 130. I could of course be very wrong. The Yanks had a great deal of transport types in that era.
