RAF Honnigton. STATE 1 on a Tornado, which caught fire during an early morning engine start up. You can see the MK9 on the left and the MK8 in the middle.(along with our heroes!) If you look closely, the TACR1 is seen arriving in the background, with the Crash Ambulance.. a wee bit late, as it had been off doing the Mail Run when the State was called! (via Reg Metcalfe.)

I was monitor man on Crash 3 (mk8)with Rob (plug) Jones. The concrete was spalling under our feet.

Martin Bennett the one on the left was badly injured not long after this photo was taken. On the way to a shout in Honingtons brand new MK10A it rolled over causing benny to suffer serous injuries. He is now living in Oz. Photo was 1983 or 1984.
